Item Description

Mortal Kombat 11's story ends with history itself being rewritten. Aftermath picks up right there and asks what happens next, and the Aftermath Kollection is the 2020 edition that gathered NetherRealm Studios' fighter together with its first Kombat Pack of extra fighters and the Aftermath story expansion.

The core game is NetherRealm at its most refined. Fatal Blows give a fighter low on health one huge, cinematic comeback swing, Krushing Blows turn specific counters and punishes into bone-shattering close-ups, and separate offensive and defensive meters make every enhanced special and wake-up escape a resource decision. Custom Variations let you build your own loadout of special moves for each character, the Klassic Towers reward every fighter with an ending of their own, and the Krypt becomes a third-person treasure hunt across Shang Tsung's island.

Aftermath adds a new chapter in which Shang Tsung, Fujin and Nightwolf are drawn into the fight over time itself and sent after the crown of Kronika, the Keeper of Time. It puts the sorcerer at center stage as a schemer whose loyalties are never quite clear, with Shang Tsung played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who made the role famous in the 1995 film. The roster grows with Fujin, Sheeva and RoboCop, while the first Kombat Pack brings Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and Sindel alongside guest stars from film and comics in the Terminator, Spawn and the Joker. The update also revived Friendships, the series' gleefully goofy alternative to a Fatality, and brought back Stage Fatalities.

Mortal Kombat 11 earned strong reviews for its storytelling, presentation and depth, and the Aftermath Kollection was built to present that era of the series in one release. The two-part story plays like a blockbuster you can finish in a weekend, the roster mixes Mortal Kombat's founding cast with some of its strangest crossovers, and couch versus on PS4 is as brutal and as funny as the series has ever been.
