Item Description
Crown Zenith closed out the Sword & Shield era in January 2023, and its Galarian Gallery subset is where the set saved its most charming artwork. Mew fits right in. Ryota Murayama's full-art illustration gives the little Mythical Pokémon the whole card to itself, the kind of character art that makes the Galarian Gallery so collectible.
Mew is useful on the table too. Its Mysterious Tail Ability works once during your turn while Mew sits in the Active Spot: look at the top six cards of your deck, take an Item card you find there and shuffle the rest back. That makes it a handy opener that digs for the Balls, tools and gadgets your deck needs before the real attackers take over, and Psyshot can chip in 30 damage for one Psychic and one Colorless Energy.
This is the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery printing, collector number GG10/GG70, a holofoil illustrated by Ryota Murayama. Its Pokédex entry reads, "Its DNA is said to contain the genetic codes of all Pokémon, so it can use all kinds of techniques," a neat summary of why Mew has fascinated fans since the very first games.
