Item Description

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is one of the most ambitious handheld games ever made — a title that refused to be a watered-down portable spin-off and instead delivered a full-blooded Metal Gear experience on the PSP. Set in 1974 Central America and picking up after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Peace Walker follows Big Boss as he builds up his mercenary nation, Militaires Sans Frontières, and confronts a mysterious CIA-backed military force with ties to a nuclear weapon. The story is vintage Hideo Kojima — dense with Cold War politics, philosophy, and genuine emotional weight, told through an innovative series of comic-style cutscenes that give the whole game a unique visual personality.

What makes Peace Walker stand apart from nearly everything else on the PSP is the sheer scale of what it asks you to do. Rather than a single linear campaign, the game is structured around a base-building meta-layer called Mother Base, where you recruit soldiers, develop weapons and equipment, and manage an entire living operation between missions. It's addictive in a way that kept players sinking hours into it long after the credits rolled. The mission structure itself is brilliantly designed for portable play — shorter, focused objectives that still reward careful stealth and planning — while the optional extra ops and boss encounters offer tremendous depth for players who want to push further.

Peace Walker also introduced cooperative multiplayer to the Metal Gear series in a meaningful way, letting up to four players team up on missions via local and online play. For a PSP title released in 2010, the ambition is staggering. Konami and Kojima Productions clearly viewed this as a mainline entry in the series canon, and they delivered something that more than earned that distinction. The game later received an HD remaster as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, but the original PSP version remains the definitive portable experience and a genuine collectible artifact of that era.

Visually and aurally, Peace Walker punches well above its weight. The UMD holds a surprisingly rich world — detailed environments, expressive character designs, and a soundtrack that mixes tension-building infiltration music with genuinely memorable melodic themes. The story missions involving the AI weapons, and the deeply human story at the game's core, cement Big Boss as one of gaming's great tragic protagonists in a way only the Metal Gear series has ever managed.

This is a must-own for Metal Gear fans and PSP collectors alike. If you love deep stealth action, rich military fiction, or the legacy of Hideo Kojima's work, Peace Walker belongs in your collection — and having it complete in box with the manual makes this a particularly satisfying piece to own.
