Item Description
Two Metang fuse to become Metagross, a four-legged steel giant said to have four brains and a mind that out-calculates a supercomputer. Since its debut in Ruby and Sapphire it has been Hoenn's heavyweight pseudo-legendary, and Temporal Forces gives it a showcase worthy of that reputation.
On the table, this Stage 2 Metal-type plays like a rolling barrage. Meteor Mash costs a single Metal Energy for 60 damage and sets up the next turn, when Meteor Mash does 60 more. When you need to close out a game, Luster Blast hits for 200 by discarding two Energy from Metagross. With 180 HP it can trade blows with big Basics while building toward those heavy swings, and players who enjoy evolution decks will appreciate a Stage 2 that rewards patience.
This is the Temporal Forces printing, collector number 178/162, a holofoil Illustration Rare painted by Katsunori Sato, numbered past the main set among the set's full-art illustration cards. Its Pokédex entry adds a lovely detail, noting that Metagross's magnetic powers grow stronger in freezing temperatures, so those living on snowy mountains are full of energy.
