Item Description
This is the Mega Charizard X ex that Phantasmal Flames saves for the back of the binder. Mega Hyper Rare is the top rarity tier of the Mega Evolution era, and its cards lean on heavy texture and layered foil to carry the artwork, so the black-and-blue dragon reads a little differently every time the card tilts under a light.
Beneath the treatment sits a serious battler. It is a Stage 2 Fire Mega Evolution Pokémon ex with 360 HP that evolves from Charmeleon, and its single attack, Inferno X, costs two Fire Energy and lets you discard any amount of Fire Energy from among your Pokémon for 90 damage per card. That scaling makes it a finisher: build Fire Energy across the bench, then cash it all in for one enormous hit. As a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, it hands over three Prize cards when Knocked Out, so the timing of that swing matters.
This is the Phantasmal Flames printing, collector number 130/094, a Mega Hyper Rare illustrated by takuyoa. Numbered well past the set's 94-card main run, it is the showpiece version of the X form and a natural headliner for a Charizard collection or a Phantasmal Flames master set.
