Item Description
Black scales, blue flames and a permanent snarl: Mega Charizard X was the moment in Pokémon X and Y when Charizard finally took on the Dragon typing its design had always hinted at, while its Mega Charizard Y counterpart kept the classic orange look. Phantasmal Flames brings that darker form to the card game as a Stage 2 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, evolving from Charmeleon and carrying a towering 360 HP.
The attack is all about commitment. Inferno X costs just two Fire Energy, then lets you discard as much Fire Energy as you like from among all of your Pokémon, dealing 90 damage for every card thrown away. Two cards make 180 and four make 360, so a board stocked with Fire Energy becomes a loaded cannon aimed at whatever your opponent leads with. Like every Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, it gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out, which turns each swing into a dramatic, all-in decision.
This is the Phantasmal Flames holofoil printing, collector number 013/094, a Double Rare illustrated by takuyoa. It is the main-set version of the card and the natural place to start a Mega Charizard X page before chasing the set's higher-rarity versions.
