Item Description

Long before he crash-lands into Lewis's life in the movie, Wilbur Robinson has already made a mess of the timeline. Disney's Meet the Robinsons serves as a lead-in to the film: a time-travel mishap knocks two kids off course and creates an alternate 2037 ruled by Emperor Stanley and Queen Lizzie, and Wilbur has to put the future back together while the Bowler Hat Guy schemes in the background.

The fun is in the gadgets. Wilbur builds up an arsenal of five: a Disassembler ray that breaks down doors and furniture into parts, a Charge Glove that fires electrical balls to power distant switches, a Scanner backpack that reveals enemies' weak spots and hidden areas, Havoc Gloves that unleash sonic shockwaves and let him dig underground, and a Levitation ray for lifting enemies and heavy slabs. Each robot enemy is vulnerable to a particular tool, and tougher ones make you combine two, so battles feel like small puzzles. Collected parts and Secret Blueprints feed Cornelius Robinson's Transmogrifier, which builds upgrades, cheats and extras.

The eight main environments range from the Robinson mansion in 2037 to the 2007 science fair and twisted versions of the future, with flying sequences in the Time Machine and optional minigames including a protective-bubble obstacle course, an underground digging maze and Chargeball, a futuristic paddle game against members of the family. Avalanche Software, the Salt Lake City studio that later made Disney Infinity and Hogwarts Legacy, developed it.

Reviewers praised the variety of the gadgets and the amount to discover, and it is a relaxed, puzzle-friendly adventure for younger players and fans of one of Disney's more offbeat animated films, arriving late in the GameCube's life.
