Item Description
Sceptile holds a special place for Hoenn fans: the sleek, forest-dwelling final evolution of Treecko, loved for its speed and cool-headed design. Mega Evolution turned it into something wilder, a towering Grass-type with a trailing tail and leaf blades that make it look like a living weapon forged in the rainforest.
M Sceptile-EX backs up the look. It packs 220 HP and an Ancient Trait that prevents all effects of your opponent's Pokémon's Abilities done to it. Its Jagged Saber attack hits for 100 for just two Energy, and as it swings you may attach up to 2 Grass Energy cards from your hand to your Benched Pokémon in any way you like, healing all damage from each Pokémon that receives Energy. Attacking, accelerating and healing in one move gave Grass decks a fresh engine.
This is the XY - Ancient Origins Ultra Rare, 8/98, illustrated by 5ban Graphics, in foil. Ancient Origins arrived in 2015 and continued the Ancient Trait mechanic introduced in Primal Clash, and this Mega is one of its headline Grass cards.
