Item Description

Put Emboar and Inkay side by side and you get the best odd couple in the Lumiose City Mini Tin series: a hulking Fire and Fighting-type pig with a beard of flame, next to a little Kalos squid that likes to float upside down. The pairing makes more sense the longer you look at it. Tepig returned as one of the three starter Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and its final form Emboar picked up a brand-new Mega Evolution in that game. Inkay is a Kalos native, famous for evolving into Malamar only when players held their Nintendo 3DS upside down in Pokémon X and Y.

The tins themselves are the draw. Each lid in the Lumiose City line pairs two Pokémon, and the five designs fit together into one scene set against a Lumiose City backdrop, the Kalos capital that Pokémon Legends: Z-A built its entire adventure around. Collect the full run and you have a small panorama of the game's world on the shelf; pick out this one and you have the Tepig-starter tin with the strangest sidekick of the bunch.

It is an easy, inexpensive way to open some Pokémon cards, a cheerful gift for a kid who chose Tepig in Z-A, and a compact keepsake tin long after the packs are opened.
