This copy of LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3 comes complete in box — you're getting the game disc, the original box, and the manual all together. That's the full package, exactly as it should be for any serious PS3 collector. Item Description
A little burlap figure with a zipper down his front grins up at you, and Stephen Fry's warm narration explains that this whole world is yours to play with. LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule's 2008 PlayStation 3 debut, introduced Sackboy and built a game around three words that were more than marketing: Play, Create, Share. You run and jump through a handcrafted world made of felt, cardboard, sponge and string, then use the same tools the designers used to build stages of your own.
The look alone set it apart. Every surface seems touchable, from stitched fabric and corrugated card to buttons, bolts and zippers, and the whole thing resembles a stop-motion craft project brought to life. The story levels travel through themed lands, from leafy gardens to a savannah and a Mexican-flavored canyon, each one loaded with prize bubbles that fill your Popit menu with stickers, materials and costume pieces to dress up your Sackboy.
Underneath the charm is a physics-driven side-scroller with real bite. You grab and swing from sponge, drag objects across three layers of depth, and work through contraptions and races built around a playful, slightly floaty physics engine. Up to four players can share a screen, and couch co-op is where it sings, with friends helping each other through puzzles one moment and accidentally slapping each other into fire pits the next. The level editor, intimidating at first glance, turned out to be approachable enough that players built a staggering variety of creations, and the game was designed to share them with everyone online in its heyday.
LittleBigPlanet became a defining exclusive for the PS3, earning a pile of awards and launching a series that carried Sackboy onto PSP, PS Vita, PS4 and PS5. The original still carries a special handmade magic, the sense of a studio inviting everyone to play in its toybox, and its story levels and creation tools give you plenty to explore offline. It is the place to meet Sackboy where it all began.
