Magic: The Gathering single: Liliana Vess. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
What if a planeswalker had a rookie card? The Magic: The Baseballing Secret Lair drop answers with a reversible card styled after a classic baseball trading card, and Liliana Vess plays right field. Both faces are Liliana Vess, so you can choose which side faces up in the sleeve, and the back reads like the stat side of a vintage card, listing her signature magic, plane of origin and height, and adding one perfect villainous joke: "Stole 23 bases last season, refuses to return them."
The full-art treatment by Fay Dalton and Scott Okumura is pure fun, but the card still plays as the original necromancer planeswalker. She enters with five loyalty; her +1 makes a target player discard, her -2 tutors any card to the top of your library, and her -8 returns every creature card from every graveyard to the battlefield under your control. In Commander, she can fetch a key combo piece or simply grind an opponent's hand down.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1455, a borderless full-art foil from Magic: The Baseballing, illustrated by Fay Dalton and Scott Okumura.
