Item Description
Black ink on black card stock: the San Diego Comic-Con 2013 planeswalkers are some of the most striking promos Magic has produced. Liliana of the Dark Realms was one of five Magic 2014 planeswalkers in that convention-exclusive set, each redrawn by Steve Prescott in a moody black-on-black style that makes the card look like it was pulled from a shadowy vault, and it suits the necromancer perfectly.
She plays as well as she looks in a Swamp-heavy deck. Her +1 searches your library for a Swamp card and puts it into your hand, smoothing out land drops while she builds loyalty. Her -3 gives target creature +X/+X or -X/-X until end of turn, with X equal to the Swamps you control, so it can either kill a threat or push your own attacker through. The -6 emblem makes each of your Swamps tap for four black mana, a huge payoff for mono-black Commander builds.
This is the San Diego Comic-Con 2013 promo printing, collector number 102★, a foil illustrated by Steve Prescott.
