Complete in box: the UMD, the manual and the original case, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. Look over the photos for condition, packaging and details. Every game is tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.

Item Description

The lemmings will not stop walking. They tumble out of the trapdoor, march straight ahead and will cheerfully stroll off a cliff, into deep water or onto a spike trap unless you step in. That simple, slightly cruel premise made DMA Design's 1991 original a defining puzzle game of the home-computer era, years before the studio became Rockstar North. Team17's 2006 remake brought it to the PSP for the series' 15th anniversary, and the core idea has not lost an ounce of its tension.

You never control a lemming directly. Instead you hand out a limited supply of skills: Climbers and Floaters to get them over and down obstacles, Blockers to turn the crowd around, Builders to lay a staircase across a gap, Bashers, Miners and Diggers to carve a path through rock, and Bombers for the moments when a sacrifice is the only way forward. Every level is a question of triage, deciding who gets which job and when, while the rest of the tribe keeps marching toward disaster.

The PSP version is generous. It includes the 120 levels of the original game plus 36 new ones, 156 puzzles in all, rebuilt with pre-rendered 3D landscapes while the play itself stays on a flat 2D plane exactly as it should. Veteran game composer Tim Follin provided the music. A level editor lets you assemble your own stages from pre-rendered objects, and at launch those creations could be shared with an online community built for the game.

Reviewers responded warmly, with GameSpot singling out the visuals, audio and level designer, and the format suits a handheld beautifully: a single level is a perfect bite of logic, and the next one is always one more try away. If you first met these little green-haired walkers on an Amiga or PC, this is the full original puzzle set in your pocket, with a fresh coat of paint and three dozen new ways to lose a lemming.
