Item Description
“By folding back its wings in flight, it can overtake jet planes.” The Pokédex entry printed on this card captures exactly why Latios has thrilled trainers since Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire: the sleek blue Eon Pokémon is all speed and intelligence, a legendary that roamed Hoenn and had to be chased down rather than simply found. Here he appears as a Basic Dragon-type with 100 HP, illustrated by Ryo Ueda.
His attacks are built around his bond with his sister. Sky Blade costs one Water and one Colorless Energy for 20 damage, and adds 20 more if Latias is on your Bench, rewarding anyone who pairs the Eon duo. Speed Wing hits for 60 with one Psychic and two Colorless. Those mixed Energy costs are a signature of Dragon-type cards from the Black & White era, when Dragons drew on two kinds of Energy instead of their own.
Dragon Vault itself was an unusual release. Launched in October 2012 and sold only in Dragon Vault blister packs rather than booster boxes, it gathered a compact roster of dragons into a 20-card set in which every card is holofoil. This is the Dragon Vault printing, number 10/20, a striking centerpiece for a Hoenn legends page or a dragon-themed binder.
