Item Description

Lapras has always held a special place with Pokémon fans: a gentle giant of the sea, majestic and a little melancholy, and the lone gift waiting for players inside Silph Co. in the original games. Its Pokédex entry famously describes a species hunted nearly to extinction that ferries people across the water, and this Fossil holo captures that calm, noble presence in the painterly style of the earliest TCG art.

On the table it is a solid 80-HP Water Pokémon with two attacks that suit its gentle nature: Water Gun, which hits harder the more extra Water Energy Lapras has attached, and Confuse Ray, which flips a coin to leave the Defending Pokémon Confused. It was never the flashiest card in the binder, but for collectors it is a centerpiece of the Fossil holo page and a direct line back to the first wave of Pokémon cards.

Fossil, released in 1999, was the third English expansion after Base Set and Jungle. This is the Fossil holofoil Lapras, collector number 10/62, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, the artist behind so much of Pokémon's original look.
