Item Description
Laelia, the Blade Reforged hits the ground swinging and never stops growing. She is a three-mana red 2/2 with haste, and whenever she attacks you exile the top card of your library and may play it that turn. Better still, she gets a +1/+1 counter whenever one or more cards are put into exile from your library or graveyard, so her own attack trigger grows her by one before blockers are even declared.
That makes her an engine as well as a threat. Every swing is card advantage, and every other exile effect you play feeds her: impulse-draw spells, graveyard removal, delve, escape and the like all add counters. Equipment and auras push the damage even further, which makes Laelia a great fit for mono-red Voltron and "exile matters" Commander decks that want a cheap, hasty leader who snowballs from the first attack.
Laelia comes from Commander 2021, the decks released alongside Strixhaven. This is the Commander 2021 printing, collector number 53, illustrated by Wisnu Tan, in non-foil.
