Item Description
Krosan Beast looks like a joke until your graveyard fills up. The four-mana Squirrel Beast is a 1/1 with threshold: once seven or more cards sit in your graveyard, it gets +7/+7 and becomes an 8/8. Self-mill, cycling and sacrifice decks reach threshold quickly, and from then on this little Squirrel hits as hard as most dragons for a fraction of the mana.
Threshold debuted in Odyssey, where the original Krosan Beast was a memorable payoff for the set's graveyard theme, and its Squirrel creature type has made it a cult favorite in squirrel decks ever since. In Commander it fits Golgari self-mill builds and squirrel-themed decks that fill seven cards in no time, and its flavor text sums up the charm: "The true Fist of Krosa is big and furry."
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 196, illustrated by Ivan Shavrin, in foil, a fresh look at an Odyssey-era favorite.
