Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.

Item Description

Few cards make an entrance like a ten-mana Eldrazi titan, and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth starts paying you back before he even hits the table. The moment you cast him, you draw four cards, so even a Kozilek that gets countered leaves you with a fresh grip. Once he resolves, a colorless 12/12 with annihilator 4 starts swinging, and every attack forces the defending player to sacrifice four permanents of their choice. That is usually the end of the conversation.

His last clause is quietly brilliant: whenever Kozilek is put into a graveyard from anywhere, his owner shuffles their graveyard back into their library, so removal or a discard spell only sends him back to be drawn again. Being colorless, he fits any Commander deck that can ramp to ten mana, can lead a colorless deck himself, and gives big-mana Eldrazi builds and cube drafters a towering finisher. He first menaced Zendikar in Rise of the Eldrazi alongside Emrakul and Ulamog, and he still plays like a boss fight.

This is the Double Masters 2022 foil-etched printing, collector number 414, illustrated by Michael Komarck. Every rare and mythic in Double Masters 2022 received a foil-etched version for Collector Boosters using its main-set art, so this is Komarck's classic portrait of the titan given an etched, metallic finish that looks right at home in a binder of premium Eldrazi.
