Item Description
Kindred Summons is the instant that turns a tribal board into an army before anyone sees it coming. For seven mana, you name a creature type, count how many creatures of that type you control, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you find that many creature cards of the chosen type. All of them go straight onto the battlefield, and the rest of the revealed cards are shuffled back in.
Because it doesn't cast anything, it doesn't care about mana values: if you control five Elves, you get five more Elves, whether they cost one or seven. Instant speed is the secret weapon here. Fire it off at the end of an opponent's turn, untap with double the board, and swing with everything. Every creature that enters with a trigger fires that trigger, and lords make the new arrivals hit even harder. Elves, Dinosaurs, Zombies and Spirits all love it, and it gives green tribal decks a late-game spell that can end a stalled Commander game in one turn.
Kindred Summons is the green card in Commander 2017's five-card Kindred cycle, released in the tribal-themed Commander year. This is the Commander 2017 printing, collector number 32, a rare illustrated by Ryan Pancoast, offered in non-foil.
