Item Description
Card draw that scales with your board is exactly what tribal decks run out of, and Kindred Discovery fixes that problem in one enchantment. It costs five mana, has you name a creature type as it enters, and then draws you a card whenever a creature you control of that type enters the battlefield or attacks.
That second trigger is what makes it special. Each creature of your chosen type can pay you once on arrival and again every time it swings, so a board of evasive Faeries, Merfolk or Spirits turns each attack step into a refill. Token makers get even sillier: a spell that creates three Zombies draws three cards, and they draw again when they attack next turn. It slots into any blue tribal Commander deck, and it gives creature-heavy strategies a way to keep pressure on without running out of gas.
Kindred Discovery is the blue card in Commander 2017's Kindred cycle, a five-card set of tribal-support spells released in the tribal-themed Commander year built around Dragons, Vampires, Wizards and Cats. This is the Commander 2017 printing, collector number 11, a rare illustrated by Lake Hurwitz, offered in non-foil.
