Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Pick your tribe, then make it very hard to kill. Kindred Boon is a four-mana white enchantment that has you name a creature type as it enters. From then on, two mana (one of it white) puts a divinity counter on a creature you control of that type, and every creature you control with a divinity counter has indestructible.
Those counters stay put, so the investment builds. Spend spare mana each turn and your Angels, Knights or Soldiers gradually shrug off destroy effects, lethal damage and the board wipes that usually reset a tribal deck. It won't stop exile or shrink effects, but against a Wrath it can be the difference between rebuilding and winning on the next swing. Leaving the mana open also keeps opponents guessing, since you can protect a key creature in response to removal. Divinity counters are a nice callback, too: they first appeared on Kamigawa's Myojin, the great kami who were indestructible as long as one sat on them.
Kindred Boon is the white member of the Kindred cycle from Commander 2017, the tribal-themed Commander year built around Dragons, Vampires, Wizards and Cats. Wizards later renamed the Tribal card type to Kindred, so the name reads even better today. This is the Commander 2017 printing, collector number 5, a rare illustrated by McLean Kendree, offered in non-foil.
