Complete in box: the cartridge, the manual and the box, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. The sports card that was packed in with some copies is not included with this one. Look over the photos for condition, packaging and details. In 1994 the most exciting player in baseball had a sweet left-handed swing, a backwards cap and a club owned by Nintendo's president. Ken Griffey Jr. was the face of the Seattle Mariners and of the sport itself, and Nintendo put him on the box of its own Super Nintendo baseball game, developed by the British studio Software Creations.
The game earns its reputation on the field. Pitching and batting have a quick, readable rhythm, fielding is easy to pick up, and the bright, arcade-flavored presentation gives a home run some real swagger. All 28 Major League teams of the day are here in their own stadiums, and you can play and save a 26-, 78- or full 162-game season. That last option is a serious commitment, and it rewards anyone who wants to follow a club all the way through the summer.
It is also a snapshot of a specific baseball moment. The 28-team league predates the 1998 expansion that added the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and the game came out in the same year a players' strike cut the season short. A sequel followed in 1996 with Ken Griffey Jr.'s Winning Run, built by Rare, but this first game is the one where Junior's Super Nintendo career began.
For Super Nintendo players it is the baseball game with the most personality, built around one of the most charismatic stars the sport has ever had and backed by a publisher with a direct stake in his team. Load up a season with the Mariners and the summer of '94 comes right back.

This licensed game allows you to play with all 28 Major League Teams in their own stadiums and over 700 player names (not likenesses). You control your pitcher or batter as well your fielders. The game allows you to play and save a 26, 78 or 162 game season.
