Item Description
Jaxis loves to make a mess, and the best part is that the mess pays you back. This New Capenna troublemaker copies your other creatures for a single turn, and Bene Rohlmann's borderless full-art Secret Lair version gives him the loud, poster-like presentation that suits the attitude.
For one red mana, tapping Jaxis and discarding a card, you create a token copy of another creature you control. The copy has haste and draws you a card when it dies, then gets sacrificed at the next end step, so it attacks, triggers anything it does on entering, and replaces itself on the way out. Point it at a creature with a strong enter or attack trigger and you get that effect twice. Jaxis also has blitz for two mana, letting you cast him cheaply for a hasty one-turn hit that draws a card when he dies. Commander players running value creatures and sacrifice payoffs find a lot to like here.
This is the Secret Lair Drop borderless printing, collector number 1703, illustrated by Bene Rohlmann, in Secret Lair's rainbow foil.
