Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
"People's thoughts just come to me. Sometimes I don't know if it's them or me thinking." That flavor line sums up young Jace on Vryn: a teenage telepath whose power is running ahead of him. Magic Origins built a cycle of five legendary creatures that transform into planeswalkers when their sparks ignite, and this card shows Jace before he ever left his home plane.
The front face is a 0/2 Human Wizard for two mana that taps to draw a card and then discard one. Looting fills your graveyard, and once five or more cards are there, he exiles himself and comes back as Jace, Telepath Unbound with 5 loyalty. That side's +1 shrinks a creature's power by 2 until your next turn, the −3 lets you cast an instant or sorcery from your graveyard (exiling it afterward), and the −9 emblem mills an opponent five cards every time you cast a spell. It is a satisfying arc to play: a cheap card-filtering creature that grows into a walker that recasts your best spell.
This is the From the Vault: Transform printing, collector number 12, illustrated by Jaime Jones, in foil. From the Vault: Transform gathered transforming cards into an all-foil collection, and this one keeps the distinctive Origins flip-walker frame.
