Magic: The Gathering single: Jace Beleren. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Jace Beleren steps up to the mound in Magic: The Baseballing, the Secret Lair drop that reimagined planeswalkers as baseball cards. This double-faced printing puts Jace on both sides: the front casts him as a pitcher, and the back reads like the stat side of a trading card, listing his signature magic, plane of origin, first planeswalk and height, plus a tongue-in-cheek streak of Planeswalker of the Year wins.
Either way up, he plays like the original. For three mana he starts at three loyalty. His +2 has each player draw a card, a friendly move that powers group-hug Commander decks, his −1 has target player draw a card, and his −10 makes target player mill twenty. It is a fun card to cast and an even more fun card to flip over and show the table.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1454, a borderless full-art double-faced card with art credited to Fay Dalton and Scott Okumura, offered here in foil. The baseball-card concept makes it a standout for Jace collectors and anyone who enjoys Secret Lair at its most playful.
