Complete in box: the UMD, the manual and the original case, all original; anything beyond that is included only if you can see it in the photos. This copy also includes the PSP camera and its accessories as packaged with the bundle. The photos are of this exact copy — look them over closely for its condition, packaging and details. Every game is tested before it's listed. It ships in a collector's bag or a hard plastic case.
Point the camera at your coffee table and something stares back. Invizimals: Shadow Zone built its entire premise on that trick: hidden creatures live just out of human sight, and the PSP, fitted with its camera attachment and aimed at a printed trap card, is the only way to see them. Through the screen, a monster appears right there on your desk or kitchen floor, ready to be captured or fought. Years before augmented reality went mainstream on phones, Spanish studio Novarama was turning the PSP into a creature-hunting gadget.
This sequel picks up the story with Kenichi Nakamura, who founds a group of Invizimal hunters called the Alliance after being betrayed by Sebastian Campbell, and recruits you to join. Campbell's plan is to open a shadow gate at Stonehenge and let Dark Invizimals spill into the real world, which sends you chasing creatures and rivals across a new campaign. Battles play out with your captured Invizimals fighting on the trap card in front of you, each with its own attacks and strengths.
Shadow Zone expanded the original in every direction collectors care about. It adds more than 100 new creatures to hunt, a larger selection of attacks, and the ability to rename and recolor your Invizimals so your team feels like your own. A co-operative capture mode lets two hunters team up to catch creatures together, a natural fit for a game that always worked best when friends were crowded around the same table.
Published by Sony, Shadow Zone launched in Europe in 2010 and reached North America in October 2011, late in the PSP's life. Because the game requires the PSP camera attachment to play at all, Sony sold it as a camera bundle, and that pairing is what makes this release such a distinctive piece of PSP history: a game that only exists in the space between the handheld and the room around you.
Invizimals: Shadow Zone is a PlayStation Portable augmented reality video game developed by Novarama, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. It is the sequel to 2009's Invizimals. As such, it is a collectible creature game, and requires the PSP's camera attachment for play.
