Item Description
For the 2020 Lunar New Year, Secret Lair celebrated the Year of the Rat with a drop of Magic's rat cards in fresh artwork, and Ink-Eyes, Kamigawa's infamous rat ninja, was a natural pick. JungShan's illustration gives the old assassin a striking new look, and the foil finish makes it a standout in any black deck or binder.
Ninjutsu is the trick: for five mana, return an unblocked attacker you control to your hand and put Ink-Eyes onto the battlefield tapped and attacking as a 5/4 Rat Ninja. When Ink-Eyes deals combat damage to a player, you may put a creature card from that player's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control, and a two-mana regeneration ability helps it survive to do it again. In Commander it anchors black ninja builds full of cheap evasive creatures, and it rewards any deck that likes to raid opponents' graveyards for their best fallen threats.
