Magic: The Gathering single: Inexorable Tide, from Modern Masters 2015 Edition. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Inexorable Tide makes every spell you cast push your board a little further. It is a five-mana blue enchantment that says: whenever you cast a spell, proliferate. Choose any number of permanents and players, and each gets another counter of each kind already there, whether that is loyalty on planeswalkers, +1/+1 counters on creatures, poison on an opponent or charge counters on artifacts.
The payoff is that you never have to choose. One cheap spell ticks up every planeswalker you control, grows your counter-laden creatures and pushes an opponent closer to ten poison, all at once. That makes it a powerhouse in Superfriends, +1/+1 counter and infect-themed Commander decks, and a natural partner for commanders built around counters, such as Atraxa, Praetors' Voice.
This is the Modern Masters 2015 Edition printing, collector number 49, illustrated by Dave Kendall, in non-foil. The card debuted in Scars of Mirrodin, and its flavor text belongs to the Phyrexian praetor Jin-Gitaxias: "See how gratefully this world accepts our blessings."
