Item Description

The adventure opens in a Peruvian jungle temple, with a golden idol on a pedestal and a boulder waiting in the dark. MachineGames recreates the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark as a playable prologue, and from that moment Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes its intentions plain: this is a full-blooded Indy adventure, not a game wearing a license. Set in 1937, between Raiders and The Last Crusade, it sends Indy from the halls of Marshall College to Vatican City, the pyramids of Giza, the Himalayas, Shanghai and the temple ruins of Sukhothai in Siam, chasing an ancient secret tied to a circle of sacred sites spanning the globe.

The studio behind the modern Wolfenstein games plays it mostly in first person, putting the whip, the fedora and the battered satchel right in front of you, then pulls back to third person for climbing and cinematic moments. Troy Baker gives Indy a wry, weathered voice that sits comfortably beside Harrison Ford's performance. Fights lean on fists and whatever is lying around, from shovels to frying pans, while the whip disarms enemies, yanks them off balance and swings Indy across chasms. Guns are there, but they draw a crowd; slipping past patrols in a borrowed uniform, photographing clues with Indy's camera and cracking the puzzles hidden in tombs and catacombs is where the game really comes alive.

The villain is Emmerich Voss, a Nazi archaeologist with a scholar's mind and a fanatic's ambition, and Indy's journey pairs him with Gina Lombardi, an Italian journalist with her own reasons for chasing the mystery. Large hub areas such as Vatican City and Giza invite you to wander, with side mysteries, hidden artifacts and adventure books that unlock new skills, so the pace swings between set-piece thrills and the quieter pleasure of following a lead. Gordy Haab's score weaves John Williams' themes into new music, and the famous march still lands every single time.

Executive produced by Todd Howard, the game launched on Xbox and PC in December 2024 and reached PlayStation 5 in 2025, earning wide praise as the best Indiana Jones game in decades. It plays like a lost chapter from the original trilogy's era, written with real affection for the films. If you have ever wanted to walk into those movies rather than just watch them, this is the adventure that makes it feel possible.
