Item Description
Increasing Vengeance is the red mage's echo chamber. For two red mana it copies target instant or sorcery spell you control, and you may choose new targets for the copy. Cast it again from your graveyard with flashback for five mana and it copies that spell twice instead, so a burn spell, a tutor or a big card-draw sorcery suddenly happens three times.
That two-for-one structure makes it a natural fit for spellslinger Commander decks, especially ones that can recast cards from the graveyard or reward every spell you cast. Copying a removal spell or a card-draw sorcery for two mana is already good value; holding it until your opponents think you are out of tricks and then flashing it back is where the real drama happens. It first appeared in Dark Ascension on gothic Innistrad, where flashback was a signature mechanic.
This is the Strixhaven Mystical Archive Japanese alternate-art printing, collector number 103, illustrated by D-suzuki, in foil-etched. The Mystical Archive was a bonus sheet in Strixhaven boosters, and its Japanese versions paired classic spells with striking new artwork printed in Japanese, making them favorites for players who want a spellslinger deck that looks as good as it plays.
