Item Description
Imprisoned in the Moon is one of the cleanest ways in Magic to make a problem stop being a problem. For three mana, this blue Aura enchants a creature, land or planeswalker, and that permanent becomes a colorless land that taps for one colorless mana and loses every other card type and ability. The threat stays on the battlefield, so death and leave-the-battlefield triggers never happen, and a commander stuck under it does not return to the command zone.
It answers things blue usually struggles with, from indestructible creatures to planeswalkers, and it can even shut down an opponent's best utility land. The card debuted in Eldritch Moon, whose story ended with Emrakul sealed inside Innistrad's moon, and that gives its flavor text a real punch: "An unlikely jail for an impossible inmate."
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1102, from The Space Beyond the Stars, a drop of minimalist, space-themed borderless art by Jérémie Solomon, offered here in foil. The clean cosmic look suits a card about locking something enormous away among the stars.
