Item Description
Imperial Seal is the sorcery-speed sibling of Vampiric Tutor, and in a deck built around one perfect card that is often all you need. For a single black mana and 2 life, you search your library for any card, shuffle, and put it on top, locking in your next draw. A combo piece, a board wipe, the exact answer to whatever is about to beat you: name it and it is waiting.
The cost is real, since you spend a card and your next draw to set it up, but black Commander decks built to assemble a specific combo or find one game-changing spell happily make that trade. First printed in Portal Three Kingdoms in 1999, it is a piece of old-school Magic history that Double Masters 2022 brought into a modern booster set.
This is the Double Masters 2022 etched foil version, collector number 439, illustrated by Milivoj Ćeran. Its flavor text casts the tutor as a royal summons you cannot refuse: "Your presence at the palace this evening is required." It is signed by Queen Marchesa, the scheming monarch of the Conspiracy sets, which makes the card's search-for-anything effect feel like an invitation with strings attached.
