Item Description
Noble Hierarch spent years as the graceful elf powering green, white and blue mana decks, so Modern Horizons 2 gave the formula a gleeful heel turn: a scruffy Goblin Shaman who trades the sacred groves for a fetid bog. For a single green mana, Ignoble Hierarch taps for black, red or green, fixing a Jund deck on turn one and setting up a three-mana play on turn two.
Exalted is the quiet second half of the deal. Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn, and every exalted source triggers separately. That keeps the little 0/1 relevant long after the extra mana stops mattering: it pushes a lone dragon or a suited-up commander past blockers and rewards the one-big-attacker style of play that so many Jund Commander decks lean into.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 906, a borderless, full-art rainbow foil illustrated by John F. Malta. It was offered as a bonus promo with bundles from the Secret Lair Equinox Superdrop in spring 2024, and Malta's edge-to-edge artwork turns a workhorse utility creature into a showpiece for a Jund binder or a foil-heavy deck.
