Magic: The Gathering single: Huntmaster of the Fells. Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Huntmaster of the Fells is value on arrival and a threat every time it changes shape. Cast it for four mana and you get a 2/2, a 2/2 Wolf token and 2 life all at once. If a turn passes with no spells cast, it flips at the beginning of the next upkeep into Ravager of the Fells, a 4/4 trampler that deals 2 damage to an opponent or planeswalker and 2 to up to one of that player's creatures.
The flipping keeps going. When any player casts two or more spells in a turn, Ravager transforms back into Huntmaster, and returning to the front face makes another Wolf and gains another 2 life. Opponents are forced into awkward choices about how many spells to cast, while every transformation hands you more value. In red-green midrange, Commander werewolf decks or cube, it is the kind of four-drop that steadily runs away with a game.
This is a Secret Lair Drop printing of Huntmaster of the Fells in foil, illustrated by Chris Rahn, the same artist who painted the card's original Dark Ascension version.
