Item Condition

Ho-Oh GX SM57 is a foil single card from the Sun and Moon Promos set, presented here in the condition noted in the listing. Promo cards like this one carry a distinct prestige in any collection, and this copy is ready to slot right into your binder, deck, or display. This card's condition is as described in the listing.

Item Description

Ho-Oh is one of the most iconic and revered Legendary Pokemon in the entire franchise, the rainbow-winged guardian of the skies first encountered atop the Bell Tower in Johto. Its mythic status — roaming the heavens, visible only to those pure of heart — has made it a fan favorite for generations, and that legendary aura translates beautifully onto the card. The artwork on this GX promo captures the firebird in full radiant glory, the foil treatment making those brilliant feathers shimmer and catch the light in a way that does real justice to a Pokemon whose very presence is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

As a GX card, Ho-Oh GX belongs to the mechanic that defined competitive and collector interest throughout the Sun and Moon era of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. GX attacks were powerful, game-changing moves that could only be used once per game, adding a layer of strategy and drama to every match. Ho-Oh GX brings that energy to the table with the kind of raw power and versatility you would expect from a Legendary Fire-type, making it a genuinely appealing pick for players building Sun and Moon format decks or anyone who just wants a heavy hitter on their side.

The SM Promos set occupies a special place in TCG history as the promotional spine of the entire Sun and Moon generation. Rather than being tied to a single expansion, SM Promos were distributed through events, products, and special releases across the full run of the Sun and Moon series, which means individual cards from this set can be surprisingly tricky to track down depending on how they were originally distributed. That scarcity and the variety of acquisition methods make SM Promos a genuinely interesting collecting target — each card in the set has its own little story about where it came from.

SM57 specifically, with its foil finish, is the kind of card that earns a prominent spot whether it is going into a legendary Pokemon collection, a Ho-Oh master set, or a comprehensive Sun and Moon Promos run. The combination of a beloved Legendary, the GX mechanic, and the eye-catching promo foil treatment makes it a standout piece across multiple collecting categories at once.

This card is a perfect fit for Pokemon TCG collectors focused on completing the SM Promos set, fans of Ho-Oh who want every significant card appearance the bird has made, players with an appreciation for the Sun and Moon era, and anyone who simply loves a beautifully presented foil Legendary in their collection.
