Item Description
Ninjutsu is one of Magic's most satisfying tricks: swing with something small, watch it go unblocked, then swap it for a Ninja that lands tapped and attacking. Higure, the Still Wind turns that trick into an engine. Every time it deals combat damage to a player you may search your library for a Ninja card and put it into your hand, and for two generic mana you can make a Ninja creature unblockable to keep the chain going.
Higure costs five mana to cast normally, but its four-mana ninjutsu lets it slip in off any unblocked attacker. Once it connects it fetches the next Ninja, the unblockable ability makes sure that one connects too, and every combat starts refilling your hand. Alongside Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Ingenious Infiltrator or Satoru Umezawa it is the backbone of a Ninja tribal deck, and as a legendary 3/4 it can captain a mono-blue Ninja list on its own.
Higure first appeared in Betrayers of Kamigawa, the 2005 set that introduced ninjutsu. This is the Planechase Anthology printing, collector number 18, illustrated by Christopher Moeller, in non-foil.
