Item Description
A one-mana Snake that ends up protected from everything is a hard card to forget. Hexdrinker starts as a 2/1 for a single green mana and has level up for one generic mana, which you can activate any time you could cast a sorcery. At levels three through seven it becomes a 4/4 with protection from instants; at level eight or higher it is a 6/6 with protection from everything.
That final form can't be targeted, damaged, blocked, enchanted or equipped by anything, which leaves sweepers that don't target as nearly the only way to deal with it. It is a satisfying mana sink in any green deck, rewarding you for spending spare mana every turn until the Snake becomes untouchable.
This version comes from the Ssssssnakessssss Secret Lair drop, a release devoted entirely to snakes. This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 1222, a borderless mythic illustrated by Boneface, offered in foil. Boneface's distinctive style gives the serpent a look unlike its original Modern Horizons printing.
