Item Description
Heartless Hidetsugu asks one question every time he taps: how much life does everyone really need? The five-mana 4/3 Ogre Shaman deals damage to each player equal to half that player's life total, rounded down. In Commander, one activation takes a 40-life table down to 20 in an instant, and a second activation does it again.
That makes him a thrilling card for aggressive red decks that want to shortcut long multiplayer games, and a classic combo piece: pair him with a damage doubler and the whole table can be wiped out at once, so plan for your own survival first. He hits you too, so the best Hidetsugu decks are built to take advantage of the chaos before anyone recovers. The Ogre Shaman comes from Kamigawa, where his flavor text tells of a dozen oni bound to him by blood oath and cities burning at his word.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 262, a borderless rare illustrated by JungShan, offered here in non-foil.
