Item Description

Oxnard winding up for the hammer throw, Penelope riding a bird down the course, Pashmina clearing the pole vault and Hamtaro hauling away in the carrot pull: Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games is the Ham-Hams' very own summer games, released in the summer of 2004, and it is every bit as charming as that line-up sounds.

There are fifteen events in all, from the dash, hurdles and triple jump to tennis, beach volleyball, diving, archery, sailing, swimming and synchronized swimming, each starring a familiar face from the show. The competition runs across seven days, opening with a ceremony and the dash, then three events a day, and closing with the marathon as the grand finale. Rival teams of new Ham-Hams, such as the pirates of Team Seaham, keep the medal race lively, and every event has a practice mode so you can master its controls before the results count.

Between events, the Clubhouse offers a handful of Ham-Ham TV shows and a basketball minigame starring Penelope, and collecting fifty Friend Cards unlocks a secret minigame. The game was also designed for the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, which lets friends trade statistics and collectible costumes.

It was developed by AlphaDream, the studio behind Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and that studio's knack for snappy, playful timing shows in the button-tapping events. As the last Hamtaro game made for the Game Boy Advance, it's a bright, quick-to-play send-off for the series on the system and a natural partner to Ham-Ham Heartbreak.
