Item Description
Equipment decks live and die by their equip costs, and Hammer of Nazahn makes most of those costs disappear. Whenever the Hammer or any other Equipment enters under your control, you may attach it to a creature you control for free. The Hammer itself then gives the equipped creature +2/+0 and indestructible.
Think about what that does to cards with brutal equip costs. A Colossus Hammer that normally costs eight to equip lands straight on your best attacker, swords snap on the moment you cast them, and the creature wearing the Hammer shrugs off destroy effects and lethal damage. In Voltron Commander decks it's both a protection piece and a tempo engine, saving mana on every Equipment you cast for the rest of the game. Its own equip cost of four is the one bill you'll still pay, and you only have to pay it when you want to move it.
This is the Commander 2017 printing, collector number 51, illustrated by Victor Adame Minguez, in non-foil, the card's original appearance in that year's preconstructed Commander decks.
