Item Description
Indestructible and a free equip on everything: that's the pitch for Hammer of Nazahn, and it's why Equipment players keep finding room for it. The four-mana legendary Equipment gives the equipped creature +2/+0 and indestructible, and whenever the Hammer or another Equipment enters under your control, you may attach that Equipment to a creature you control without paying its equip cost.
Every sword, greatsword and heavy hammer you cast afterward skips straight to the action, which is huge for gear with punishing equip costs, and your main threat gains indestructible so destroy-based removal and board wipes bounce off it. Voltron Commander decks treat it as a cornerstone, white and red Equipment decks use it to speed up their clock, and it's colorless, so any deck built around suiting up a single creature can run it.
This is the Double Masters printing, collector number 260, illustrated by Victor Adame Minguez, in non-foil. Double Masters was the 2020 reprint set that put two rares in every booster, bringing back the Hammer a few years after its Commander 2017 debut.
