Item Description
Hold back, wait, then strike: anyone who played Guile in Street Fighter II knows the rhythm of a charge character, and this card captures it beautifully. Guile, Sonic Soldier (its rules name is Immard, the Stormcleaver) is a four-mana blue-red-white legendary 4/4. Whenever it enters or attacks, you either put a charge counter on it or remove one, and each time you remove a counter you choose: deal 4 damage to any target, or give it lifelink and indestructible until end of turn.
In play that becomes a charge-and-release loop. Attack once to store a charge, then cash it in next swing for four damage to a creature, planeswalker or player, or for a lifelinking, indestructible attack that's nearly impossible to punish. Jeskai Commander players can build around it with blink effects to re-trigger the enter ability and proliferate or counter-manipulation tricks to keep the charges flowing, and it makes a flavorful general for a fighting-game themed deck.
