Item Description
Grimmsnarl is one of the most imposing Dark-types in the franchise: a hulking, wild-haired brute whose design channels equal parts heavy-metal album cover and fairy-tale villain, the end of a line that runs from the mischievous Impidimp through Morgrem. Its signature trick is wrapping that enormous mane around its body like extra muscle, and Grimmsnarl VMAX leans into that menace completely.
On the table, this 330-HP Darkness VMAX evolves from Grimmsnarl V and swings with G-Max Drill: three Darkness Energy for 170 damage, plus 50 more for each extra Darkness Energy attached, up to 100 extra. That means up to 270 damage from one attack, a fitting payoff for a Pokémon this large.
Shining Fates arrived in 2021 as a special set built around its Shiny Vault, a subset of shiny Pokémon in alternate colors that collectors chased from the moment it was released. Here Grimmsnarl's shiny palette replaces its usual look across a full foil card.
