Item Description
Every creature in a green deck is a stack of cards waiting to be drawn. Greater Good turns that idea into an engine: sacrifice a creature to draw cards equal to its power, then discard three. Throw away a 6-power creature and you see six new cards, keep the best three, and push the rest into the graveyard where reanimation and flashback can use them.
It can be activated any number of times at instant speed, so removal aimed at your biggest threat simply becomes card draw. Commander decks with large creatures, sacrifice themes or graveyard recursion get a lot out of it, and it pairs naturally with creatures that come back from the graveyard. The Battlebond flavor text captures the Golgari outlook: "There's wisdom to be gained in death—whether it be one's own or someone else's."
This is the Battlebond printing, collector number 201, illustrated by Mathias Kollros, in non-foil. First printed in Urza's Saga, the card got fresh art in Battlebond, the 2018 set built for Two-Headed Giant play.
