Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
Black and red decks need double pips: {B}{B} on one turn, {R}{R} on the next. Graven Cairns makes those mana costs much easier to meet. Tap it alone for one colorless mana, or pay one black-or-red mana and tap it to add {B}{B}, {B}{R} or {R}{R}. Paired with a single Swamp or Mountain, it effectively converts that one colored source into two of whichever colors your hand needs.
It first appeared as a futureshifted land in Future Sight before Shadowmoor and Eventide filled out the filter land cycle, and it has been the Rakdos fixing land of choice for players who want smooth mana without paying life. In Commander it is an easy include for any deck playing black and red, especially lists packed with demanding costs. The flavor text adds some menace, with Kar-Sengir's shamans claiming their sun sets because it can no longer stand to look at the pain-carved cliffs.
This is the Iconic Masters printing, collector number 237, illustrated by Anthony S. Waters, in non-foil.
