Item Description
Big green decks have a timing problem: the creatures worth casting tend to cost six, seven or eight mana. Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma solves it from turn four. Every creature spell you cast with power 4 or greater costs two generic mana less, so a hulking six-drop lands for four the turn after Goreclaw does. Then, whenever Goreclaw attacks, each creature you control with power 4 or greater gets +1/+1 and trample until end of turn, turning a board of heavyweights into an alpha strike that chump blockers can't soak up.
The four-mana 4/3 legendary Bear qualifies for its own bonus, which makes it a natural commander for green stompy decks and a strong engine in any list built around dinosaurs, hydras or simply the biggest creatures in your binder. Pair it with early ramp and the discount snowballs quickly; by the time the table notices, your hand has emptied onto the battlefield.
This is the Secret Lair Drop borderless printing, collector number 1229, illustrated by Paul Mafayon, in foil. First printed in Core Set 2019, Goreclaw gets the full edge-to-edge treatment here, a fitting look for a creature whose whole job is being bigger than everything else.
