Item Description
Not every goblin wants to charge headfirst into battle. Goblin Snowman, a quirky defender that first showed up in Ice Age, would much rather wait for you to come to it. Whenever it blocks, all combat damage that would be dealt to it and by it that turn is prevented, so it walls off an attacker without getting hurt. Then it taps to deal 1 damage to the creature it is blocking.
On its own that picks off small attackers, but the card gets far more interesting with a little help. Give it deathtouch and its 1-damage ping kills anything it blocks, while effects that boost the damage your sources deal turn it into a real deterrent. It is a playful build-around for casual decks and a conversation piece in any red pile of oddities.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 61, illustrated by Victor Adame Minguez, in foil, giving a classic snow-era goblin a modern illustration and a shiny finish.
