Item Description
"The King" set out to assemble the most kaboomiest goblin team in the land. That line of flavor text sets the tone for the < explosion sounds > Secret Lair drop, where Mike Uziel reimagines a handful of classic Goblins as a crew with nicknames and attitude, and Goblin King naturally takes the role of ringleader.
Underneath the fun, it is still one of red's original tribal engines. Three mana gets you a 2/2 that gives every other Goblin +1/+1 and mountainwalk, so against any opponent with a Mountain in play your Goblins simply can't be blocked. That makes it a strong payoff for token makers and cheap Goblin creatures, and it stacks with every other lord you can find. Just remember the bonus covers other Goblins on both sides of the table.
This is the Secret Lair Drop printing, collector number 19, illustrated by Mike Uziel, in non-foil. Goblin Lackey and Goblin Sharpshooter were part of the same drop, with flavor texts that carry the crew's story forward, so this King makes a great centerpiece if you want your Goblin deck to look like a team.
