Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.
Item Description
First strike plus deathtouch is one of the nastiest combinations in combat, and Glissa, the Traitor has both on a three-mana 3/3. She destroys nearly any creature that blocks her or that she blocks before it can strike back, which makes her a terror both on offense and on defense.
Her triggered ability turns that pressure into value: whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, you may return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand. Cheap sacrificial artifacts, mana rocks and removal artifacts become a renewable resource, and Golgari Commander decks built around artifacts and creature removal can grind opponents down one returned card at a time.
Glissa's story is part of the appeal. Once the elf champion of Mirrodin, she was turned by Phyrexia during the Scars of Mirrodin saga, and her flavor text says it plainly: "Once Mirrodin's brightest hope. Now Phyrexia's cruel champion." This is the From the Vault: Lore printing from 2016, collector number 5, illustrated by Chris Rahn, in foil. From the Vault: Lore gathered cards with major story significance, and this foil-only edition puts that history front and center.
