Our grade: Near Mint. Pictured: this printing of the card. Every card ships triple-sleeved — a soft sleeve, a deck sleeve and a rigid top loader.

Item Description

Blocking Glissa is a losing proposition. First strike and deathtouch together mean any creature without first strike that blocks her, or that she blocks, is destroyed before it can deal its damage. For one black and two green mana you get a 3/3 legendary Phyrexian Zombie Elf that controls the combat step on her own, and then gets paid for it: whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, you may return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand.

That second ability is where the deckbuilding fun lives. Pair her with board wipes, sacrifice effects or cheap artifacts that sacrifice themselves, and every opposing death becomes card advantage. As a black-green commander she anchors artifact-recursion decks that grind the table down one returned trinket at a time, while her combat stats keep attackers honest.

This is the Secret Lair Drop borderless printing, collector number 1217, illustrated by Kekai Kotaki, in step-and-compleat foil. Kotaki's art and that Phyrexian-patterned foil make a fitting tribute to the Mirrodin elf who betrayed her world and was compleated by Phyrexia.
